Rasa is the Garrett homestead. In Latin, it means "shaved" or "clean", with the connotation of being made new through some painful process. We felt that this accurately reflected our experience as new homeowners. Rasa is located in Ashton Place in Jacksonville, AL.

Driving Directions

Ideally, we'd provide a link to Google Maps for this, but our subdivision appears as a black hole on all mapping sites. I have reported this problem to NAVTEQ, so hopefully it will be rectified within the year. In the meantime, you can get to our house as follows:

From I-20 East:

Take the second Oxford/Anniston exit (the one with Starbucks) and merge right onto Hwy 21 South. When you reach Jacksonville, make a right onto Mountain Street (at the intersection with the Grub Mart and Waffle House). Go straight through the four-way stop, and then take the second road on your left. You should see a big sign at that turn that says "Ashton Place". Make a left at the top of the hill, and we are at 307, which will be on your right in the curve.

From Gadsden:

Take Hwy431 towards Anniston, and make a left onto Hwy 204 (which will be at a caution light and a large JSU billboard). When you reach Jacksonville, Hwy 204 will intersect with Hwy 21, onto which you'll make a right. You should see the library (red, 12-story building) just on your right at the intersection. From Rome, GA:

Take Hwy 9 to Alabama, passing through Cedar Bluff, Centre, and Piedmont. When you reach Piedmont, take a right onto Hwy 278. Very shortly, you will take a left onto Hwy 21 to Jacksonville.
